Applying for recognition based on a diploma obtained outside the European Economic Area (EEA)
Did you obtain your diploma outside the EEA and do you want to practice your healthcare profession in Belgium? Then you first must get the equivalence of your basic diploma. After that, depending on your profession, you must either apply for recognition at the Flemish government or directly request a visa at the federal government.
Are you an EU national or equivalent, and has your diploma been recognized as equivalent (academic equivalence) in one of the EEA countries, and have you already worked in that EEA country for at least three years?
